Unclaimed Stimulus Checks

More than $5 million in government stimulus checks have gone unclaimed across North Carolina, IRS officials announced Thursday. Taxpayers who are missing a stimulus check must update their addresses with the IRS Web site by Nov. 28, 2008. By law, the checks must be sent out by Dec. 31. Taxpayers without Internet access should call 1-866-234-2942.Taxpayers who did not receive their refund checks can also check the status and update their address on the IRS Web site.
