Two Businesses Take Bogus Bills

Two instances of counterfeit money being passed at local businesses this weekend have left more questions than answers. Police were called to Wal-mart and to Burger King in Wilkesboro on Sunday, as employees counting money at the end of shifts found that they had received counterfeits. At Wal-Mart, it was a fake 100-dollar bill received sometime Saturday, while at Burger King it was a fake 20-dollar bill received sometime Sunday. Neither store was able to track which employee took the counterfeit bill, and there were not suspects identified in either case. Both have been closed by police for a lack of leads.
