More Catalytic Converter Thefts Reported

Add vehicle owners near the Wilkes/Surry county line and in the Moravian Falls area to the list of people who have been the victim of catalytic converter theft. The first was discovered yesterday morning at Central Wilkes Middle School. When Ellen Mastin showed up for work, she discovered someone had cut the catalytic converter off a school vehicle during the night. The second was reported about dark in State Road, just off the Wilkes/Surry county line on Highway 21. Bradley Spicer has a vehicle parked alongside the road to try to sell it. It's been there for about three weeks. He stopped by several days ago and says everything was fine then, but last night he found someone had crawled underneath and taken off the catalytic converter. Deputies have no suspects in either case at this time.
