NASCAR To Go UnleadedOn the NASCAR scene, drivers could soon have their choice of regular or unleaded to fill up. NASCAR officials announced on Monday that they’ll be testing unleaded fuel over the rest of this year, with hopes of going to it full time by 2007. The decision was made as officials look to steer away from gas that contains lead based additives. July 29th will be the first date unleaded fuel is used on the Busch Series, as all cars will fill up with it for a four week trial. Then based on the results of the trial, unleaded fuel could be used for the rest of the season on the Busch circuit. NASCAR also said they hope to introduce unleaded fuel to the Nextel Cup by the time Daytona rolls around next February.

The study, examined 470 men age 65 and older and found that those who ate the equivalent of 1/3 of a chocolate bar each day had lower blood pressure. That includes things like chocolate pudding and hot coca drinks, as well as the candy. It’s believed that flavanols, particles found in the chocolate, increase nitric oxide in the bloodstream and improve the way blood vessels function. For a fee, it would allow the broadcast networks to literally freeze the channel when a show goes to commercial, making it impossible for the person sitting at home to channel surf. Officials with Phillips said that the only way people would be allowed to change channels on the new system is if they paid some sort of fee directly to the network, in exchange for a password. If all goes according to plan, these new “pay per view” tvs could hit stores next year.
